FirstBreak makes it easy to log concrete test strengths and to analyse them statistically. The test strengths and other data are held in a relational database which is accessed through open database connectivity (ODBC). This simplifies the transferral of data to or from spreadsheets, documents or other databases.

The database holds the following information:

• Project details
• Ingredients
• Mix details
• Wet concrete properties (batch details)
• Curing details
• Results of strength tests

The user can obtain a report, which assesses whether a set of selected test strengths meet the requirements of ACI 301-96 for a given design strength and determines the testing proficiency according to ACI 214-77.

The following statistics are also available for a set of selected test strengths:

• Within-test average
• Cumulative average
• Moving average for a specified number of consecutive tests
• Cumulative standard deviation and coefficient of variation
• Moving standard deviation and coefficient of variation for a specified number of consecutive tests
• Within-test range
• Cumulative average of within-test range
• Moving average of within-test range for a specified number of consecutive tests
• Cumulative average of within-test coefficient of variation
